Services & Treatments
Every situation is different which is why we offer several treatment styles.
ART
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) was developed in 2008 by Laney Rosenzweig, LMFT. Similarly to the widely known EMDR therapy, ART utilizes a technique called bilateral stimulation by having the client engage in relaxing eye movements. The eye movements help complete a process known as Voluntary Image/Memory Replacement, which then allows the client to work through and properly store away traumatic images and memories that they initially found physically distressing and emotionally disturbing.
ART is known for its exceptionally rapid results in helping clients process through PTSD triggers and memories, calming the central nervous system, and eliminating anxiety and negative body sensations associated with the trauma. Most clients report experiencing immediate relief after completing a single ART session. ART is also used to treat symptoms of depression, nightmares, grief, phobias, panic attacks, OCD, dyslexia, pain management, low self-worth, and so much more!
EMDR
Healing Counseling Center Incorporated is well versed in treating a multitude of disorders through the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an extensively researched psychotherapeutic approach and has been proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR places your brain in a hyper processing mode by stimulating the right and left side of the brain to effectively process feelings, thoughts and experiences. EMDR not only is effective in reprocessing traumatic experiences, it can also be used to treat a multitude of disorders, including but not limited to, addictions, phobias, OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, and self-esteem.
DBT
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) can assist clients in managing painful emotions while decreasing conflict in interpersonal relationships. The four main focuses of DBT are mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Through the use of the four main areas, clients will feel confident in regulating overwhelming emotions, tolerating stress, learn to enjoy the moment, and communicate/interact effectively with others. DBT is proven most effective in the treatment of personality disorders, depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and substance abuse.
CBT
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the most commonly used therapeutic approach in the counseling community. CBT is a goal-oriented approach that uses practical problem solving skills to identify dysfunctional patterns of thinking that impact our thoughts, feelings, and actions. The goal of CBT is to create awareness and insight of our negative thought patterns to help reshape to positive thinking. Through reshaping, this will improve our beliefs, attitudes, feelings, and thoughts to include a positive outcome. CBT is useful in the treatment of most psychological disorders.
